Belosy Africa recently conducted a hands-on training program in the Bonabome and Nguele communities, equipping displaced women with practical skills in pullover production and reusable sanitary pad manufacturing.
This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to promote sustainable livelihoods while addressing critical health and social needs among internally displaced women. Beyond income generation, the training on reusable sanitary pads highlights a pressing yet often overlooked issue: menstrual hygiene.
For many displaced women and girls, access to safe and affordable menstrual products remains a significant challenge, affecting their health, mobility, and dignity. By producing reusable pads locally, these women are not only meeting their own needs but also contributing to a community-driven solution that is both cost-effective and environmentally sustainable.
"The pullover production training further strengthens economic resilience by enabling participants to develop marketable skills, allowing them to support their families and rebuild their lives with independence."
Belosy Africa invites individuals, organizations, and partners to support this initiative by purchasing reusable sanitary pads produced during the training. These pads can be donated directly to displaced women, ensuring that more women and girls can manage their menstruation safely and with dignity.
Together, we can empower displaced women with the tools they need not only to survive, but to thrive.
