Taking GBV Awareness Door to Door: Volunteers Challenge Harmful Beliefs in Our Communities

Our Belosy Africa volunteers are taking GBV awareness directly into communities — breaking myths, challenging harmful beliefs, and creating safe spaces for women and girls to speak, learn and seek support.

Many harmful ideas about violence are passed down quietly: that abuse is a family matter, that a woman should endure, that speaking out brings shame. Our volunteers meet people where they are — at their doorsteps, by the washing line, on the road — and open up those conversations one household at a time.

Together, we are empowering communities to take ownership of their health outcomes and build safer, healthier futures. 💜

When women and girls know their rights and where to turn for help, and when men and boys become allies, whole communities become safer. That is the change we are working for.

If you or someone you know needs support, call or WhatsApp our confidential hotline on +237 674 459 207.
